Shocking School Stabbing in France: Teen Killed, Three Injured in Nantes Tragedy
A horrific stabbing incident rocked a private high school in Nantes, western France, leaving one teenager dead and three others injured. The 15-year-old suspect, also a student, was detained after teachers intervened during the midday attack.
The violence erupted around 12:30 PM at the Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides school near the Doulon town hall. The suspect reportedly entered two classrooms before launching the attack. Staff quickly overpowered him, and police arrested the teen at the scene.
Authorities say there is no current evidence of a terrorist motive. However, the motive remains unclear. Earlier that morning, several students received a strange email titled "Immune Action – Revolt is the greatest victory we can achieve". The message discussed ecocide, alienation, and social conditioning. Investigators are still working to determine if it is related to the stabbing.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic. One student shared: “We saw people running in the courtyard. A staff member was shouting for us to get out. We took shelter with younger students. I just found out someone died… It’s unreal.”
Another student added: “We were in the labs when the alarm went off. Tension rose. We saw police arrive and remained locked in until the area was secured.”
France’s Education Minister Elisabeth Borne expressed solidarity on social media, stating she would visit the site with Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau to support the victims and educational community.
This tragic event has reignited national concerns about teen violence in schools and campus safety. Psychological support is being provided to students and staff as investigations continue.
