Young Scooter’s Tragic Death: Atlanta Rapper Dies After Police Chase
Atlanta rapper Young Scooter, known for his collaborations with Future and Waka Flocka Flame, has tragically passed away on his 39th birthday following a police chase.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on William Nye Drive SE, Atlanta. They were also alerted that a woman was being forcibly taken back inside the home. Upon arrival, officers knocked on the door, but a man inside quickly shut it, prompting police to secure the area.
During the search, two men attempted to flee. One re-entered the house, while Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Bailey, continued running, jumping two fences before sustaining a critical leg injury. He was later found injured by officers and transported to Grady Marcus Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities’ Statement
According to Atlanta Police Lieutenant Andrew Smith, Bailey’s injuries were not caused by officers but resulted from his escape attempt. The Fulton County medical examiner's office confirmed his death, with an autopsy pending.
Young Scooter’s Legacy
Originally from Waterboro, South Carolina, Young Scooter became a prominent figure in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene during the 2010s. He collaborated with artists like Future, Young Thug, Juicy J, Kodak Black, and Rick Ross, making a significant impact on trap music.
In a 2013 interview with Complex, he explained his creative approach: “I don’t really care what I say on a beat as long as it’s about some money.”
