Twelve Injured in Knife Attack at Hamburg Central Station

A knife attack at Hamburg Central Station late Friday has left twelve individuals injured, six of whom are in critical condition. The violent incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. on the platform between tracks 13 and 14, a busy section of Germany’s second-largest train station.
Witnesses described panic and confusion as a woman attacked several people with a knife. Police quickly responded, detaining a 39-year-old woman at the scene. Investigators believe she acted alone, but her motives are still under review.
Emergency services reported that six victims suffered life-threatening injuries, three were seriously wounded, and three had minor injuries. Medical teams delivered urgent care on-site, including aboard trains, before transporting the critically injured to nearby hospitals.

In response, the federal government has announced stricter border checks and reinforced internal security measures.
