Tragic Drive-By Shooting in Chicago's West Garfield Park Leaves One Dead, Another Injured
Chicago, IL — A devastating drive-by shooting occurred in Chicago's West Garfield Park neighborhood on Friday morning, resulting in the death of a 33-year-old man and injuries to a 30-year-old woman. The incident took place around 10:00 a.m. on South Springfield Avenue, where the victims were standing outside when an individual in a black vehicle opened fire.
The male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The female victim suffered a graze wound to the back of her neck and received on-site medical attention. The assailant fled the scene in the vehicle, and no arrests have been made as of yet. Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
This shooting is part of a troubling pattern of gun violence in the Garfield Park area.
